Frequently Asked Questions
Everything about how Task N Match works—for clients and taskers.
Overview & process
What is Task N Match in one minute?
Tell us what you need → we match a verified Tasker → you pay into escrow → Tasker completes the job → you approve → we release payment. For larger projects, we use milestones.
How do matches get made?
We match by skills, location, availability, and job details. Verified Taskers (and Pro Taskers) are prioritized for higher-value jobs.
Do you cover both small gigs and bigger projects?
Yes. Small jobs (e.g., quick fixes, cleaning) have simple pricing. Premium projects ($1k+) use a scoped estimate and milestone escrow (deposit / in-progress / completion).
Clients
How do I start a request?
Submit the Request a Tasker form with scope, budget, and timing. We’ll confirm details and send you a match offer.
When is my card charged?
Small jobs (≤ $1,000): charged when the Tasker accepts; funds held in escrow. Premium jobs ($1k+): deposit is charged up front, and later milestones are charged after you approve.
What’s included in the 3% client service fee?
Secure Stripe processing, escrow operations, dispute handling, platform operations, and verification. Your full total is shown before you confirm.
Can Taskers purchase materials?
Yes—either included in the estimate or billed as a materials milestone. Receipts should be posted in the job thread for transparency.
Taskers
How do I become a Tasker?
Apply via the Tasker Intake. Share skills, city, and availability. We verify your info and start matching you to local jobs.
Do I need tools or licenses?
Most categories require basic tools. Regulated trades (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) require licensing; we verify those.
How can I win more jobs?
Respond quickly to offers, keep a professional profile (photo, skills, licenses), and share photo updates in the job thread. Verified/Pro Taskers are prioritized on premium jobs.
What fees do Taskers pay?
A 15% platform fee on completed jobs. We show gross and net so you know your take-home before you accept.
Payments & escrow
How does escrow protect both sides?
Client funds are held securely and only released after the client approves completion (or each milestone on premium jobs). This reduces risk and keeps incentives aligned.
When are payments released?
Small jobs: ~24h after client approval (or auto-release if no issues reported). Premium: each milestone releases when proof is approved.
Can I get a refund?
Before work starts: usually refundable (minus fees). In disputes, we review messages/photos and aim for a fair outcome—touch-ups, partial refund, or re-assignment.
Scheduling
How fast can a job start?
Many small jobs start same/next day. Premium projects may need planning time for materials/permitting.
Can I reschedule?
Yes—rescheduling before work starts is typically free. Short-notice changes may affect fees if travel/materials have been committed.
What if scope changes on-site?
Post an updated scope/price in the job thread and request approval. For premium projects, add a milestone and wait for client confirmation before proceeding.
Policies & safety
What if I’m unhappy with the work?
Open a dispute in your job thread. We pause payment, review docs, and propose a fair path (touch-ups, partial refund, or re-assignment).
Are Taskers licensed or insured?
Regulated trades require licensing (verified). Some Taskers carry liability insurance; verified credentials are highlighted on profiles/job threads.
What’s the cancellation policy?
Before work: typically refundable (minus fees). Premium deposits may be partially non-refundable if custom materials are purchased or work has begun.
Account & support
How do I contact support?
Email [email protected] or reply in your job thread. Emergencies: contact local authorities first.
Will you add dashboards?
Yes—client and tasker dashboards are on our roadmap (bookings, payouts, history). Until then, we handle status updates via email and Airtable workflows.
Where can I read your Terms?
We’ll publish Terms of Service and Privacy Policy on the site. By booking or accepting jobs you agree to those terms (escrow, fees, dispute process).
